This beautiful Georgian mansion featured in the heart of Washburn-Fair Oaks Historic District in South Minneapolis was built in 1915, and has been a part of the Minneapolis bridal community since the 1930s. The ballroom was an addition in the 1950s, and new renovations began in 2016 and were officially completed and opened under new management in May of 2017.

Vaulted ceilings and magnificent staircases mark this manor as an awe-inspiring wedding venue. The warm and inviting facility features soaring 18-foot ceilings, skylights, a traditional front parlor, a subterranean lounge, and a custom bar for weddings, conferences, and corporate galas.

  • Janet Mosley | Director

    Janet is the rock of The Blaisdell. With over 35 year in Sales and Marketing, she has found a love in selling event spaces and being a part of those memorable moments in your life. The opportunity to be a part of an updated venue with open rooms and a blank canvas to let your imagination run wild is nothing short of exciting for her. She is excited to see what you come up with in designing your event and taking advantage of the multiple rooms The Blaisdell has to offer.

    In her free time, Janet is hanging out with her family and sweet grandchildren. You can find her outside when it’s warm out enjoying everything the Twin Cities has to offer. Just don’t ask her to climb or go up in anything too high, because heights are not her friend.

  • Kaira Urlaub | Venue Manager

    Kaira is the lady behind the details. Once you’ve booked an event with The Blaisdell, she will help you fine tune all of the moving pieces and be there to make sure everything is executed flawlessly as the venue coordinator. She loves the new modern yet classic look throughout the building that is easily complimented by the bright and natural light in the parlor and suite

    She may be a small town girl from rural western Wisconsin, but she takes advantage of Minneapolis by finding new restaurants and new spots with her friends and family. If she has the opportunity, she will pack up and go on an adventure or stay at home with her husband and cuddle with her cat and dog.

    The Billiard Lounge is a warm, relaxing space to entertain any group. The room features elegant lounge furniture, a television, and a pool table, perfect for kicking back before or after the main event.

  • The Ballroom

    Combining the warmth and charm of a historic home with a modern and endlessly-customizable grand reception space, The Ballroom can accommodate up to 225 guests for dinner service.

  • The Great Room

    Located on the second floor of The Blaisdell, this open room is a versatile space that can be transformed into whatever works best for your day. It can be a perfect transition room for cocktail hour, or a beautiful ceremony space for intimate weddings. The options are endless.

  • The Courtyard

    Hold a small cocktail hour in our courtyard. We also offer limited outdoor seating in the gardens for guests who want to enjoy the sunshine for their event.
